Habitat for Humanity of Wood County is a non-profit, Christian-ecumenical organization on a
mission to provide decent and affordable housing to families and individuals in Wood County
through new home construction and home repair projects. We build 2-3 homes and complete
4-6 repair projects per year.

Positions Available

  • Home Construction Project Manager

    Reports To: Executive Director
    Location: Wood County, Ohio
    Status: Part-Time, Non-Exempt

    Position Summary
    The Construction Project Manager is responsible for planning, budgeting, and coordinating
    completion of residential construction projects all the way through warranty. This role
    manages material procurement, contractor scheduling (in part), and project timelines while
    supporting Habitat’s mission of providing affordable homeownership opportunities.

    Responsibilities
    1. Project Budgeting & Cost Control
    Develop detailed construction budgets for each home build and track costs
    Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality
    2. Procurement & Materials Management
    Create material takeoffs, ordering and delivery schedules with vendors
    Ensure proper inventory tracking and minimize waste
    3. Scheduling & Logistics
    Work with Construction Manager to develop construction schedules for each project.
    Adjust schedules proactively to address delays (weather, supply chain, etc.)
    4. Contractor Coordination
    Identify, vet, and schedule subcontractors (e.g., electrical, plumbing, HVAC)
    Serve as primary point of contact for subcontractors
    5. Construction Monitoring
    Ensure adherence to local building codes and permitting requirements
    Conduct regular site visits to track progress
    Ensure work aligns with plans, specifications, and quality standards
    Communicate issues, delays, or risks to leadership promptly

  • ReStore Associate

    REPORTS TO: Wood County ReStore Manager
    STATUS: Full Time or Part Time, Non-exempt hours vary
    Organization:
    Habitat works to help individuals and families secure decent and affordable housing through its homeownership and home repair programs.
    ReStores sell used, over-stock, and new products, as well as excess building materials, appliances and furniture with a primary goal to provide a revenue stream used to support Habitat’s mission. An additional goal is to help the environment by repurposing household items and construction materials that would otherwise be thrown out and end up in a landfill.
    Position Purpose:
    To support the launching of a new ReStore in Bowling Green, Ohio, by providing strong customer service and a smooth purchase transaction experience to shoppers.

    PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
    The ReStore Associate position is responsible for assisting customers and providing the ultimate in customer service, serving as ambassadors for Habitat. They are the first and last smiling faces customers see as they enter and leave the store. They must represent Habitat favorably within the community, develop and maintain good relationships with customers, donors, volunteers and partners. This is a physically demanding position including regularly moving furniture throughout the day.

    SPECIFIC DUTIES (90%):
    Primary role is to serve as a cashier to accurately transact customer purchases
    Welcome customers / donors as they enter the ReStore.
    Accurately ringing up customer transactions on the register, including handling cash and credit card transactions.
    Assisting customers by answering questions and enhancing their shopping experience.
    Help maintain cleanliness and safety of the sales floor and cashier work areas.
    Accepting and unloading donations being dropped off.
    Helping to load out purchases or furniture, tools, building supplies and other items.
    Cleaning, pricing donations for sale.
    Merchandising sales areas.

    OTHER DUTIES (10%):
    Processing of materials-including cleaning and pricing, stocking product, arranging merchandise aesthetically.
    Address potential hazards to staff, customers or donors in an expedient manner.
    Able to react to change productively and handle other essential tasks as assigned.
    Assist w/ donation pickups in the event of a call off.
    Other duties as assigned

    QUALIFICATIONS:
    Handling cash, basic math, counting skills, calculator use
    Must have knowledge of basic computer skills.
    High school diploma or equivalent GED preferred
    Will be required to successfully pass a criminal background check and drug screening.
    Successful employees will have problem solving and analytical ability to utilize time management and space management to juggle an ever changing environment.

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
    Ability to stand / walk on concrete surface for long periods
    Ability to work in a warehouse setting subject to heat, cold, and dust
    Ability to lift up to 50lbs independently or more as part of a team lift.

    Other Requirements: Adhere to schedule, show initiative, honest, drug free, positive attitude, customer service oriented, must have dependable transportation to work
